Galvanisation is the most durable method for protecting metal from rusting. The metal is immersed in a zinc bath which results in a protective layer. If the layer gets damaged, the metal under it will start rusting. However any damage can be touched up with zinc paint available from any DIY store. Galvanised steel has a very long life span and is perfectly recyclable if necessary.

The Hopper picnic table clearly bears resembles to the traditional picnic tables everybody knows, but as is typical of Extremis it offers extra comfort. The four pass through zones make it easy to get in and out of Hopper without having to lift your leg over the bench or disturbing your table-companions. At a lively beer festival, elegance is almost certainly not the main concern, but this hasn’t stopped designer Dirk Wynants from trying to improve access to the classic picnic table. He has incorporated more space at the sides to get in. No more embarrassing climbing over tablemates to find a place to sit.

Whether open or closed, the Hopper Sun Shade perfectly accompanies the lines of the Hopper. Thanks to a spring mechanism, it opens and closes effortlessly, and does not take up extra space next to the table. The goal was to create enough shade for everyone in a simple, aesthetically pleasing way. Dirk Wynants found the solution in the Hopper Sun Shade. The cloth can be stretched out either to the left or right, or in both directions to protect everyone. The cloth only needs to be closed in strong wind, and then it rolls itself up.

This foldable canopy is developed for using with the Hopper table, but any furniture can be put underneath. The sun shade does not only look aesthetically pleasing, thanks to its flat surface it offers great wind resistance as well. 

Polyester is the most popular synthetic fibre in the world. The use of special finishing methods makes the fabrics weatherproof, water repellent, dirt repellent, lightfast, etc. High-tech polyester is used for a variety of “sun protection” purposes - from seat cushions to patio furniture through to awning fabrics. High water and UV resistance guarantees an excellent long-term appearance.

Choose wisely
Tree leaves, dust, CO² emissions, pollution, bird droppings etc may leave marks on a spotless white fabric, so keep this in mind when choosing the perfect location for your parasol.

For some products we combine different high quality types of stainless steel. Aggressive environmental conditions caused by chlorides, acid rain, salt and other rusty materials will require periodic maintenance.
