VILLA LISBON

Villa Lisbon by Architecten Achtergael

Villa Lisbon is intended as a holiday house for both summer and winter holidays, it has an open atmosphere, while also including more intimate and closed spaces. This feeling is emphasized by the immediate contact with the close surroundings and the blurring between inside and outside spaces. The rooms are bent around an open patio with a partially covered outdoor swimming pool. Views under and through the building give the villa an orientation of 360 degrees.

The house is structured over two floors with the option for a third basement level housing an indoor pool and spa.

The main living areas are situated on the ground level, which include a large open plan living room separated from the dining room by a suspended fireplace, a kitchen breakfast room, a guest bedroom suite and a triple garage. The first floor is separated into three separated entertaining and bedroom modules. The first accessed by a staircase from the main living area houses a library and cinema room. A hallway staircase gives access to the second module which has two bedrooms both with their own dressing rooms and bathrooms. The master suite is accessed from the third private staircase and has a bedroom, large bathroom located off a dressing hallway and a separate study.

The house has a substantial courtyard, which has views under the cantilevered first floor modules to the surrounding nature. On one side of the courtyard there is a separate gym located within close proximity to the swimming pool, which runs under the main living areas of the house. The courtyard area provides a large social space for gatherings and entertaining in the summer months. Villa Lisbon can be reconfigured from its current scale of 556m2 to over 1,000m2 to include an extended courtyard area, further entertaining rooms and bedroom accommodation.
