The Project
Ciclotte is the evolution of Ciclò, a concept of monocycle studied for a sustainable mobility, that since 2007 is part of the permanent collection of the Italian Design Museum, “La Triennale” di Milano).
Piece of design / fitness tool / decoraction object, Ciclotte is the pure expression of contemporary living, where work and relations, exercise and entertainment share fluid spaces and the same dimension, in a constant dialogue. Fitness is no more relegated to its functional aspects and its boundaries with design blur.
Idea, form and technology combines themselves to offer inimitable style and elegance within the most varied living contexts: from home to office, from gym to outdoor.
Ciclotte is product entirely Made in Italy by using high-tech materials like carbon and glass fibres, and it is the first exercise-bike which features an electro-magnetic resistance system with fly-wheel turns multiplier transmission, able to replicate the feeling or riding on the road.
About the Designer
Luca Schieppati was born in Italy in 1979. He earned a degree in Industrial Design from the Polytechnic of Milan and is a professor at the European Design Institute where he teaches a course in graphic art and computer graphics. His projects have been included in large national and international exhibitions.
