The Southern Cross 1 takes its design inspiration from the award winning Laser range of lightweight tents

► Includes an additional pole to provide extra stability and structure. 

► Pitching is quick and easy as the flysheet and inner are erected as one and the flysheet and groundsheet are fully taped providing complete waterproof protection.  

► Due to its 100% freestanding nature, pegging is kept to a minimum when optimising its strength / weight ratio.

► There is a spacious inner and porch, the porch door can be fixed open in several ways to provide the most suitable weather protection for the current conditions.

A panel of expert judges, including specialist outdoor retailers and journalists, as well as a public vote, saw the new one person model take the title adding to our existing list of accolades.

The Southern Cross 1 is created to withstand tough outdoor conditions, while being extremely lightweight.  It’s a completely freestanding design which enables it be pitched easily when pegging conditions are tough. It weighs in at 1.69kg, less than 2 bags of sugar, and takes just four or five minutes to pitch – a vital feature when you’re challenged by extreme environments.

 

A 2 person version, the Southern Cross 2 which has 2 doors and 2 porches and weighs 2.29kg is also available.

Footprints offer extra protection against sharp objects as well as keeping the tent underside clean and covering the porch area. Terra Nova footprints are sized to fit the footprint of the tent exactly, fitting under the inner tent and over the exposed porch area, and attach to the tent pole feet with shockcord loops to keep them in place. This ensures the weight penalty is kept to a minimum while providing extra durability.
